Integral Calculus is a subset of differential calculus that deals with finding indefinite integrals. This deals withintegrating functions on an interval, which is different than just finding an area under a curve. An interval could be finite or infinite length and it's composed of two endpoints: "a" and "b". The definite integral can be depicted as:"int (f(x))dx". It starts at some value ("x") on the left side and continues all the way to some other value ("x"). The definite integral is written as: "int (f(x))dx". The size of the interval is 2"a"-"b". Let's say you want to find the definite integral, then you plug in a function into which you do a variable change. You then change the variable back to what it was at the start and subtract from what you got. If this comes out positive, then it's a positive number, if they came out negative, then it's negative. You can use this for differentials, derivatives or integrals. In calculus, there is a technique for solving for differential equations called integration by substitution. You can solve it for the function, then you plug it into the differential equation and solve that. Some integrals contain more than just one variable. Some integrals can include big numbers or it could include complicated functions. When you use these functions, you divide them out or find their logarithm or exponential to change them into simpler functions. If you plug the numbers into an integral, you will get a definite integral. If you don't put them in, then your definite integral will be "indefinite." It's called "indefinite" because there are other methods to find it that are different than the formula used to find definite integrals.
